Exactly what is a Continuum of Care?
It is a comprehensive community plan to organize and deliver housing and human services to individuals
who are homeless as they move through the rehabilitation process. The final goal is to prevent a return
to homelessness and to help create the greatest achievable level of self-sufficiency for our consumers.
What are the benefits of joining the NWAHC?
The greatest advantage to any constituency of those in need of services is power. The coalition
gives voice to a community's needs a loud, unified, compelling voice. The larger and more
fully representative the coalition is, the more effective it can be as it works for change.

How can I participate in the Coalition?
The NWAHC meets the first Tuesday of the month at 9:00 a.m. at the City of Springdale Municipal Building on Spring
Street. (If the first Tuesday falls on or near a holiday, the meeting will be held on the second Tuesday of the
month.) Click here for specific dates.
Everyone who is interested in the issue of homelessness in Northwest Arkansas is welcome to attend the
monthly meetings. Annual membership dues are:
Students: $15
Individuals: $25
Agencies: $50
Supporting Member: $100
Sustaining Member: $300
Corporate Sponsorship: $500 - $2500
To qualify for funding opportunities, a member organization must send a representative to nine
meetings per year.
As with most coalitions, our members commit to as much or as little time as they can spare. A variety of committees
allow members to volunteer in accordance with their areas of interest and expertise.
